I'm In Love With A Wonderful Guy !
OK ! OK ! I'll tell you all about it !
I can't hold it in any more.
I'm gonna burst, I swear !
It's just like Romeo and Juliet !
He's one of them
and, and, and,
and I'm one of us
and, and,
and, Oh !
It's just so wonderful !
It was The Big Event,
Last Friday night,
And All of High Society
was there !
Perhaps it was the wine !
It was a Sauvignon Blanc 2003 1/2,
but, I swear
(and I know I shouldn't)
I only had a sip !
When I got the invitation,
I thought they'd made a mistake.
On my right was
a faded, blond,
white Republican woman
who swore
(and she really shouldn't)
she was a beauty when young.
On my left
was a Newspaper Editor !
He seemed about
as jaded and cynical
as could possibly be !
Just like he'd seen
and heard IT ALL !
and when I heard
HE was there,
I could hardly believe it !
What's HE doing here, I thought.
Isn't he one of THEM ?
He was introduced as
one of the dignitaries !
one of the VIP's !
The MAGIC MOMENT came
when our table
got called up to dinner !
We were FIRST !
And it just HAPPENED !
Perhaps I was too forward
(and I really shouldn't be)
but I approached him
as our group
passed his table !
I apologized
for being so bold
as to talk to him,
and hoped I wouldn't
take up any more
of his valuable time
than necessary, and
as I spoke...
HE SQUEEZED MY HAND !
I swear he did !
(and I know I shouldn't !)
We gazed warmly
into one another's eyes.
Time stopped...
Nothing else in the room mattered.
I told him how much
I admire
what he did
in the past.
WE HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON !
I swear (and I know I shouldn't), but
I Love Judge Rosenberg
and I think
I'm gonna register as a Democrat !
After, all, I've been
a Republican again
for almost 2 months now,
and what good's that done me ?
Perhaps I've finally found someone
who's not just a
mean-spirited Republican !
And, not only that, but...
CENSORED !

I do not want this article
of Sally's published
under any conditions whatsoever !
Because...because...because...
because we don't have time
to find a balancing viewpoint.
I was there
at the dinner with Sally
and I saw and heard
everything that she did.
And, yes, it's true
that Judge Rosenberg
is a very, very
warm, charming, and
distinguished gentleman.
But, we have to remember
who we are here at
The Candidate Insider.
We're not a bunch
of Sacramento Fireman, you know !
We're just a group
of mild-mannered reporters
for a great metropolitan
WEBLOG !
And, besides,
what the hell would
Rush Limbaugh
and the rest
of the Republicans think
if some sharp,
up-and-coming
investigative reporter
got a hold of this story !
I mean, Lord !
Sally rolling around
under the sheets
with that...that...
that DEMOCRAT !
We've all heard
that politics
makes strange bedfellows,
Sally, but that's
just A SAYING,
isn't it ?
Besides, Sally,
he's a married man -
a HAPPILY married man,
from all accounts I've heard.
Get a hold of yourself, girl !
I know, I know - he is
a charming man.
I was there, too, you know.
I felt the friendly,
sincere warmth of his handshake.
And, while your hormones
were apparently exploding
like the fireworks
at a presidential inauguration,
I took a calm, steady look
deep into his eyes, and -
and, well, quite frankly
(and I always am) -
well, I saw his soul !
