About Filipinas
I Should Have Slapped
The Shit Out Of Him.

I was working at the Sacramento
County Assessor's Office in 1979/80
with the co-workers from hell
(See links below).
Well, by the Spring of 1980,
I needed a relief, what with
putting up with those assholes
and grinding through law school at night,
and I turned to exercise.
As Gov Arnold says, "The Best Exercise
Is The One You Do !", and I did.
I started running weekends and afternoons
in training for the Sacramento Marathon
in September.
Well, it so happened that I lived near
Sacramento City College, and they were
offering a class in "ground school",
the first step in getting a pilot's license.
The class was being offered on the east side
of Executive Airport, and it was about
a 20 minute jog from my house.
"What the hell", I figured, "I can pursue
an interest I've always had, and jog
there and back, getting the exercise
I need and getting my mind off
the jerks at work and the pressures of school."
Now, it so happens that KFBK's "very own"
"commander" Bill was the instructor,
and he was an acquaintance of Don Prieve,
with whom I worked. I was not thoroughly
fed up with Prieve, yet, at that time,
and showed him deference because of
the 20+ year age difference and the rank
he had attained.
Prieve knew I was taking the course
and who was teaching it because, being
a collegial individual, I routinely
made friendly conversation at work,
talking about such appropriate subjects.
Prieve, "commander" bill's pal, knew
that I was married to a Filipina.
There was a Filipina at work at the
Assessor's office and it just
naturally came up in conversation.
But KFBK's "very own" "commander" Bill
had what you would call "an attitude".
I attended a few classes and then
decided it wasn't what I wanted to do
at that time.
Potty-Mouth bill would go off-topic
to the group, and I found it offensive
and unprofessional of him when he
started remarking about the Filipina
girls in Olongapo, Philippines,
and their "hip boots and mini-skirts",
and I found it further distasteful
when he derisively commented, "whatever -
if that's your thing".
I was married to a Filipina at the time -
a woman of traditional values who,
in concert with God, has given me the gift
of a very beautiful and wonderful child.
That's a way hell of a lot more than
those assholes Don Prieve and KFBK's
Potty-Mouth bill ever did for me !
"commander" bill seemed to be very
insecure about his manhood. He was
off-topic again remarking about
how macho his generation was
and how some young fellows today
think they're macho but it's nothing
new, we were macho long before you,
and so on.
I was there to learn about flying.
I know instructors sometimes go off
topic, but I sensed that his remarks
were directed toward me. At that time,
I really couldn't figure because,
at that time, I never suspected that
Don Prieve would be "talking shit"
behind my back. But now I think he was.
In fact, I'm quite certain of it.
Potty-mouth bill mustn't have been
much of a man if he was so threatened
by someone just prepping for a marathon !

UPDATE
I stopped off at the radio stations
on Ethan Way in Sacramento this morning.
I dropped off an assortment of eight
coffees from the nearby Starbucks,
in a collegial gesture, as well as
cookies and a tin of coffee in case
they ever run out again.
I also brought a small bouquet of flowers
for new anchor Jamie Coffee, as a gesture
of admiration for her as a woman
and as a professional.

After that, I went back to Starbucks
and read the paper for a couple of hours.
A group of males sat in a cluster near me
and some of the things they said
got me to thinking of potty-mouth bill
and the coward, "bluesmanout@aol.com",
who is too cowardly to identify himself.
My profiling division has profiled him
as most likely an old white male Republican
who is somehow in the Sacramento power-clique
because he seems to be connected to people
in Arnold's Transition Committee, somehow.
Anyway, I was just thinking about
bluesmanout@aol.com who won't identify himself,
and potty-mouth bill and KFBK and all,
and I decided to update you all.
THE TRUTH IS MY SWORD !
