McClatchy High School

Tortures and Abuses Child !

CSUS Abuses Him As Well

December 28, 2003 (Sunday)

He was an Air Force ROTC student, the kind that grows up to fight and win wars for this country, but McClatchy high school shot him down dead in his tracks in a willful, conspiratorial act of terrorism in which Sac State University participated. I knew I was in enemy territory, but I had a job to do, so I kept grinding my way through the education classes. It was 1986, and one day that year I was witness to the most horrible child abuse perpetrated by the very "professionals" to whom our society entrusts the welfare of its children and the future of our nation. They had gathered us in a larger room. We, ourselves, were taking the incredibly useless courses required by the State of California to get a certificate to teach. We were assembled to hear of the glorious exploits of one of the previous year's graduates. He slinkered before us, one of America's finest (not), a first-year social studies teacher at Sacramento's McClatchy high school, his department chair, who was his supervising teacher the year before, was there, too, beaming upon him with a gaze of pride. This snake gushed with this story of his teaching. As a student teacher the previous year, teaching social studies under his supervising teacher, he had a young man in his class who was in the Air Force ROTC program at McClatchy. The weasel of a student teacher devised the following lesson plan. He would have the school's principal make a "special" announcement over the school's intercom to that classroom that the United Stated had just declared war in Central America and that our young soldiers and airmen would be sent there right away to fight. The student teacher would then abuse and humiliate and frighten the Air Force ROTC student and convince him that he was soon going to die in combat, until the student broke down. The supervising teacher and the principal thought it was a great idea and eagerly cooperated. This terrorist plot worked as planned and the student, a high school senior, was badgered and harassed to tears. Soon thereafter, the young man withdrew from the Air Force ROTC program. As I sat through this class, part of a course required by the State of California to get a certificate to teach in California, my pulse quickened to the point where I was shaking with fury and I could barely speak, as I watched this gloating snake and the instructors nodding approval. Nevertheless, I managed to control my rage which wanted me to pick up my chair and pummel the filthy shit out of the entire staff present. I controlled myself with great effort. I can't remember what I said, but my expression and tone of voice spoke volumes, for those few who could read and hear. Immediately, a female instructor (probably having just completed a conflict-avoidance class) chirped in that "maybe, possibly, that wasn't the kind of teaching style that she thought was best, maybe, possibly." What a strong statement of censure that was ! Realizing that these morons were bastards and bitches and assholes, I kept my counsel from them, but called up the Air Force Sergeant running the ROTC programs. I met him a few weeks later at the high school where I was assigned to observe a few classes and he was interested to hear as I related the story. But the next time I called him, he was stand-offish, sounding annoyed with me. Probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer, he probably checked with the school officials about it, who probably told him I was a problem troublemaker. Just another bureaucrat, putting in his years. Didn't want to rock the boat. So concerned about maintaining good public relations that they're TERRORIZED by these liberal worms. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Be mad. Be very, very, very mad.
