Let's Talk About Children! There is a very big difference between kindergarteners and 12th graders! Illustrative of the cuteness and need for nurturing is this pre-Christmas collection of letters to Santa by Third-graders.

Third-graders inquire after Santa's elves

by Don Bosley BEE STAFF WRITER Sacramento Bee 12/12/2002. If you think the Christmas mail is getting overwhelming at your house, you ought to try hanging out at the North Pole this time of year. From the heartfelt to the cute to the hilarious, letters to Santa are landing in astounding volume this weekend. At Isabelle Jackson Elementary School in Elk Grove, the third-grade class of Jeannie Reigel offered to share some excerpts from their own letters to Santa. Here's a taste, complete with authentic syntax and grammar: "Dear Santa: How do you fly with reindeers? Is your wife doing fine? Where do you and your elves get the presents? I forgot to tell my name. It is Mariann. If you can't pronounce that I will make it easy for you. Mary-ann." -Mariann "Dear Santa: Can I ask you something? Are elves real and do you really have reindeer?" -Kathryn "Dear Santa: I was wondering if you are going to give my sister a car for Christmas because she just got her permit?" -Jeremy "Dear Santa: I hope your reindeer are able to fly. Make sure that the sled is light. Make sure that the elves aren't eating the candy or playing with the toys. Does Mrs. Claus ever get to go with you on Christmas?" -James "Dear Santa: Do you have a family? How do you come down a chimney if it is on fire, or what do you do if there is no chimney? How would you come on Christmas if all of your reindeer were sick?" -Matthew "Dear Santa: How are you doing? I'm doing fine. How was your Thanksgiving dinner? Mine was great! I can't wait...
