Sacramento Bee To Honor Scully !

Doctorate For Scully !

by Sally Ducvid

Unconfirmed insiders report that a doctorate degree is in the offing for "The Candidate Insider's" very own.

Scully is said to be "pleased" with his upcoming assignment as Dr. Risk at the Bee (6/14 - 618), but cautions against irrational exuberance.

"It's a wonderful opportunity and I'm excited about it," he said when pressed.

Stuff and Nonsense !

by Charles Bustmont

Our "very own" is an asinine moron who doesn't have a clue ! Just like you, Sally !

He's an over-the-hill failure with lunatic pipe dreams about having written Rush Limbaugh's "script", whatever the hell he means by that.

He's apparently a paranoid personality afflicted with every possible mental affliction in existence !

He reportedly HATES the Sacramento "media/education clique" that's giving him this opportunity.

The truth be known, Sally, they're just gonna let him sit in a chair for an hour a day for five days, give him something hard to read so he won't have anything to say, and have a happy hour celebration on Friday when he's finally gone !

If he'd just display some rudimentary people skills and stop being so negative he'd be successful in this wonderful country of opportunity.

The damned fool never gets anywhere because he keeps shooting himself in the foot and then sticking his bloodied foot in his mouth !

If I were a real person I'd quit ! He acts as if I don't even exist ! The Bastard !

And they're NOT awarding him a doctorate, you moron ! It's a PROGRAM called "Dr. Risk". Oi Vey !

The "Dr. Risk" program gives Sacramento Bee readers
the opportunity to offer their ideas concerning which news
items should be published in the next day's paper.
At least, this is my general understanding of the program,
so far. I'll receive more detailed info by snail mail or
email, soon. And, of course, on Monday, 6/14,
I'll actually do it and know for sure.
Apparently, it's no big deal;
we're only there for an hour each day.

They chose the title, "Dr. Risk", because the first person
to offer their opinion risks sounding foolish. Apparently,
the Bee has cagily decided that letting a reader make a fool
of him/herself is good for employee morale.

It should be obvious that I am interested in
the information/influence business.
This weblog began during the Recall Election,
and is an idea-child of Dan Weintraub's weblog.

I consider the Sacramento Bee a quality publication,
and I read it almost daily, especially the Front Page,
Capital and California, Forum, and Business.
I particularly like Dan Weintraub's very intelligent
and knowledgeable analyses, and his simple, clear
writing style.

I do think the Bee and much of mainstream American media
are too liberal. I guess you could say I fit into the
Rush Limbaugh camp. Or, rather, Rush fits into my camp.

For example, recently the Bee ran an article
gushing with enthusiasm about a family of five
Palistinians who all graduated from CSUS.
Regarding myself, I feel that I was treated very unfairly
by CSUS administrators and faculty, and that
it is well known in Sacramento, but the story was quashed
and spun unfairly when it was happening.
Some people may consider this old news,or rather,
old quashed news, but I consider it an essential
part of my personal story.

Considering the fact that Palistinians danced in the streets
when the Twin Towers were attacked and brought down,
I think it is inappropriate and displays strong
liberal bias and politically correct journalism
to make media stars of that Palistinian family.
I saw middle easterners in our college towns
who appeared quite gleeful in the immediate aftermath
of the 9/11 attacks. So, that is an example
of what I would consider a very bad choice
for a new item in such an influential newspaper
as the Sacramento Bee.

I expect I'll be doing much more listening than talking
during my "Dr. Risk" adventure. And I'll be focusing
on THAT week's news, not my personal story.

I consider it an excellent opportunity to meet
some significant players in the news business.
After all, you know, I make similar decisions
when building this weblog. And probably the
most important decision is WHAT to write about.
And it seems that I'll be witnessing and
participating a little bit in that process
at the Bee.

I'm psyched, and I'm looking forward to a
professional and collegial experience.

Thank You,
David Scully, Editor
